Round 14

Barnsley Tykes 1 - 1 Houston Odyssey
S_Jones (bar) 30'

J_Flago (hou) 76'
Jones wiyh a lovely flying header.

1st of the 4 draws this weekend, with 5th hosting 4th in what must be said a rather uneventful game. Barnsley took the lead in the 30th minute and it looked for much of the game as if Barnsley would take the full points. Houston grabbed a point with less than 15 minutes to go in the game. Although a point is not to be sneezed at, both managers would have preferred to take the full 3 points rather than sharing them.

Barnsley will be slightly miffed to lose their young defender Samoscanec to a 1 game suspension, but with plenty of other defenders available they should be able to cover for his absence.

Frogner Farmers 1 - 1 FC Levski

R_Congo (lev) 16'

J_Bohn (fro) 79'

Levski attacks?

Even allowing for Frogners lowly position on the table, they should have been able to take the points from a team that has done little so far but retrieve the ball from their own net(to say that they have under performed so far this season is like saying Gazza likes to drink a bit). However after last weeks shock win by Pasmaters over Caledonia maybe has stirred the sleeping giant, and Levski record only their second game where they have taken some points. They even led the game for most of the match (incredible). They only let in 1 goal (amazing).

Frogner got dumped on again. Couldn't beat the easy beats at home and lost Owens to injury for a week. On the bright side Onkoshi is back from suspension.

Paris Demons 3 - 3 Caledonia Celtic

You can tell this ones not going in coz Leo isn't the shot taker.

Well after last weeks hideous embarrassment (snigger) Caledonia manage to avoid another howler this week albeit against a much stronger side. Leo even turned up for this one, and just for a change scored a hattrick. There was a bit of spite shown during the week with a letter being sent to the goal scoring wiz threatening him with pain and humiliation if he turned up for this game. Since Leo has a lifetime membership to the Hellfire club, this suited him just fine. Result… 3 goals to Leo. This must be seen as a lost opportunity for Paris.. they could have taken the top spot for tht 1st time in the season. Oh well thems the breaks.

Caledonias Bindi gets a Passing increase this week, Shane says(whoopeee!). Ivalokov is back from suspension, Shane says(yay!) and finally Urrlith is hurt for a week, Shane says (Defenders??? We don need no stinkin defenders!) For Paris, Friar-Hart was taken off during the game but it turned out to be a minor bump and he will be fit to play next week. Andy says (Wheew).

Spartak Haifa 3 - 3 Saskatoon Wanderers

Alfalfio (sas) 75'

Alfalfio takes a speculator.

Both Saskatoon and Spartak needed to win this game. Saskatoon to try and bridge the gap, Spartak to move up on 2nd placed Paris. Spartak scored 1st and then 2 very quick goals to Alfalfio and Do swung the game in the other direction. Young Chin then scored again to even things out and then Cadet put away a penalty to giv Spartak a 1 goal lead with less than 30 minutes to go. Considering Spartaks defence has been the best in the Division this season and that they were playing on their home ground you could have been forgiven for thinking that they would hold on and win the game. Saskatoon to their credit and to my absolute chagrin scored again with 15 minutes to go and grabbed a share of the points.

Spartak now has their very first SL 12 striker WOW!!!! Both teams get a couple of players back for next week. Saskatoon get Melita and Bong back while Spartak welcomes Sokota and Mcshafty back to 1st team football. It wasn't all joy for Spartak as they lost a midfielder and a defender due to suspension.

Pasmaters 2 - 1 Apijarevoleada APR

K_Diehard (pas) 5'

I_Lazanga (pas) 59'

J_Mashburn (api) 68'

An embarresing miss by the keeper here.

2 games 2 wins for Pasmaters… It's as if the Pasmater Lads have just realised that they are in the drop zone and have finally decided to do something about it, and mathematically its still possible to avoid the playoffs even. They are just 3 points and a bad goal difference behind both Api and Saskatoon, so some bad results for those teams and some more wins for Pasmaters and someone else could be doing the avoiding the drop dance. This is Api's 2nd loss in a row and I can imagine Jesus is doing all he can to save the situation.

Api will be pleased with the passing increase for the very young lad Apijinho and that Rounder will join them after a brief suspension. The only real downer is the loss of Mashburn for 1 game. Things continue to look up for Pasmaters with Jensen back from suspension. So all up a good day for Pasmaters.

Pasmaters and Saskatoon up 1 place and Frogner and Api drop closer to the relegation fight.

Leo scores another hatrick after being promised some pain and humiliation extending his lead to 13 goals. If someone beats him this season I want some serious drug testing.
Bindi bags another assist and a passing increase while just about everyone else does sod all.

Barnsleys Blomqvist takes the lead with just 4 games to go. If you want to be in this list you have to have been suspended for at least 2 weeks. Who will be the first to go for 3?   Woah look out Jonesy... Leos coming to get you. Another good performance by Leo (looking for his spanking) gets him to within just 11 points of the long time leader Jones.

Welcome to the Round 14 Division 3 Report. This week saw 1st play 2nd for the top spot and 4th play 5th. It was also a week where there was 4 drawn games, 2 of them 6 goal specials. Read on and enjoy.

A nice fan shot from the crowd.
With all the draws this week the table stays pretty stactic except that for the 1st time in 9 weeks Pasmaters move out of 9th spot to start chasing a place out of the relegation zone. Sasktoons 1 point was enough to see them leapfrog Api due to a better goal difference.
