Welcome to the Round 17 Division 3 Report (I remembered it this week).
The final table positions are all but set now with only the actual champions
still to be decided. Paris or Caledonia... who will it be. |

Houstons home record is the 3rd worst in the 3rd Division and it
showed this week when Saskatoon rolled over them in a 2nd half blitz.
Foric had a ball racking up a hat trick in less than half an hour.
This loss sees Houston drop no less than 3 places down to 7th which
will not amuse Iggy at all, also since they needed to win to keep
the pressure on 3rd placed Spartak, this loss sees them now bow out
of the playoff race. Unfortunately for Eugene and Saskatoon all the
teams around them last week also won so they only move up 1 place
to 6th. Houston get a chance to improve their position next week when
they take on the team 2 places above them Api. Iggys boys really need
to win this one and since their away record is sooooo much better
than their home record they must be in with a chance… the only snag
is that Api is playing quite well at home. Saskatoon also will want
to win their next game and since they are playing Pasmaters they should
feel reasonably confident. A good win and results from other games
going their way could see Saskatoon finish the season as high as 4th.
Saskatoon may not have been the luckiest on the pitch this season
but there is now denying their luck this week with no less than 4
players getting a correct Skill increase. The Shaft Monkey must have
been really enjoying himself elsewhere. Houstons woes continue as
they see their striker Flago out for 2 games due to suspension.

There are 3 things that you felt would never happen this season,
Caledonia not picking up at least a point in a game, Leonardo not
scoring in a game and Caledonia not on top of the Table. This week
sees the impossible happen as all these minor miracles occur in the
same game. Api must have though their Christmases had come at one
time. Not only do they do the just about impossible by beating Caledonia
they also see themselves move up 1 place to 5th with only a 3 goal
difference between them and 4th placed Barnsley. Api play Houston
next week whos away record is the 2nd best in Div 3, but after beating
the seasons front runners they will be confident. This is a tragedy
for Caledonia as they finally surrender 1st place to Paris and play
a beaten Spartak next week to determine who is the Div 3 Champion
and who is an also ran.
Well we now know where the Shaft Monkey was this week, he was enjoying
the hospitality of Api while giving Mashburn a SM Special Extra Deluxe™
rogering. SM was so enjoying the Mashburn service that he ignored
Laudrup from the same team who also got a Skill increase. The return
of both Colosimo and Meller also boost the Api team. Only the loss
of Smegovic for the final game of the season will cast any sort of
Pall over the Api camp. Caledonia on the other hand got a correct
increase for Tarkel but lost Krokodil for their game against Spartak
due to suspension. Big deal, they still have Leo who will be extremely
pissed off for not scoring this week and will be eager to show the
Spartak try hard Forwards exactly how its done.

While we are surprised when Caledonia doesn't win a game we are also
equally amazed when Levski actually win one. Well that what they did
this week, briskly brushing aside an opposing defense that, while
not exactly leakproof, has conceded a shit load less than Levski.
The other 1st for Levski is that they actually didn't concede a goal
which is something they have not managed to do all year. The destroyer
for Levski was their top scoring striker Tojada who bagged himself
a hat trick. Levski will still come last this season but at least
they are going down fighting, although the question is why did they
leave it quite so late.
Cagri will not be happy with both the game and the aftermath because,
although he gets Ilic back from suspension he loses the Bulgarian
Bollokov due to suspension. Diehard lived up to his name by doing
exactly that with an injury that would do Bruce Willis proud. He is
gone for 6 weeks..Ouch!

Even though they lost this week Spartak have finished the season
in 3rd place and in the playoffs for the 2nd year running. Even if
they get smacked next week by Leo and Co this has been Spartaks most
successful year ever. Barnsley must be ruing their loss last week
to Api as their win this week would have put them squarley into the
playoff contention as they could be confident of wining next week
against Frogner while Spartak will be pushing shit up hill with a
small stick to get a result from their last game against Caledonia.
Speaking personally as Spartaks Manager I am exceeding pleased that
Sarma screwed the pooch and that I don't have to worry about next
weeks game.
Sod all really happened in the game, and the only thing of note that
will happen next week is the return of Monday from injury.

This weeks results must have been orgasmic for Andy and I bet he
is still wearing loose pants today. 1 nil against 8th placed Frogner
is nothing really to get excited about but it was enough to see them
take the lead from Caledonia on the table by a goal difference of
1. Who says 1 zip is a boring result. Paris have to win next week
against Levski by a reasonable margin to take the Championship, since
Caledonia must go into their game with Spartak as favorites to win.
Frogner on the other hand are in the playoffs unfortunately for them
it's the playoffs to avoid relegation.
Paris get 2 players back next game with Stop and Nike and that should
be a reasonable boost for Paris as they go for the championship.

Houston drops 3 places and the chasers move up 1 each,
but the biggest move was that Caledonia finally surrender 1st place
to Paris. Not a good time of the season to do this. Still they can still
make it back there. |

Well all the playoff positions (both top
and bottom) have been decided but the Championship is still wide open.
Who will it be… Paris or Caledonia. Next week will settle it once and
for all. |

Droze and Smegovic need really really good
games next week to overhaul Leo. 16 goals in 1 game seems a little out
of reach however.
|
|
This one is still open but Bindi must go
in as favorite to take the top spot |

Well my challenge from last week was not
taken up, but guys it still not too late. |

With Leo doing sod all this week Jones extends
his lead by 44 points… almost insurmountable. But with Leo you never
can tell. |
