Welcome to the Round 2 Division 3 report. This week we see a return to some sensible scores with only 1 real flogging handed out. Much was heard during the week about the bust up in Alphabet land and it will be interesting to see if Apijarevoleada manage to put the off field dramas behind them in their game against last seasons away kings Houston. This week also sees the 1st game where old Div 4 rivals play each other for the 1st time this season.

Spartak Haifa 1 - 1 Nitro FC
J_Hopoate (hai) 28'
P_Corn (nit) 78'

Last weeks big winners Nitro came to Shark Park definite favorites over a Spartak team who still don't seem to be able to score very much even though they have a much better striker up front. As in Spartaks previous game they scored first but once again late in the game Nitro managed to claw 1 back to make sure they shared the points. Nitro really had the better of the game but some absolutely woeful finishing destroy any real hope of a better result. Spartak will be the happier of the 2 teams but they will be rueing a second week where they let the full points go in the dying minutes of the game. When Nitro scored in the 78th minute the Nitro Manager glanced with some trepidation over towards the Spartak manager perhaps worried about another outburst like last week, however nothing eventuated with Lidstone just sitting pouting like a spoiled child who has just had his favorite toy taken away.

The Spartak Manager will be happy with the fact that Hendrix managed to avoid the Shaft Monkey™ and that Rudi is back from suspension. The Nitro manager will be less than thrilled however with the bad bad injury to Blanco who will miss the next 7 games.

Eastern FC 1 - 0 Saskatoon Wanderers
R_Cheng (eas) 26' pen

After taking a hammering from Nitro the week before it was important for Eastern to have a good result this week The team in between them and 3 points were the mercurial Saskatoon side, their motto recently has been "Great one day shit the next." Well I don't know that they could be called shit this week but they did manage to hold out the other ex Div 2 side for the entire match never conceding a goal in open play... They did how ever give away a penalty in the 26th minute that the way overskilled Cheng put away with ease. That was all that was needed for Eastern to register their 1st win of the season.

In other news Frank will be happy to see the Shaft Monkey (TM) avoid his boy Yau on the weekend and Chiesa back from injury for their next game against Pasmaters who are in 2nd place at the moment and doing quite well. Not much happened for Saskatoon that would make Eugene happy except that the injury to Do is not as bad as it could have been and he will be available for their next game against an unbeaten Nitro.

Apijarevoleada APR 2 - 0 Houston Odyssey
J_Mashburn (API) 31'
P_Smegovic (API) 90'

All is pretty rosy in Alphabetland as they are only one of 4 teams who are unbeaten this season and are in 3rd place on goal difference. Houston, after last weeks win against Besiktas, have come back to earth thanks to API old boys Mashburn and Smegovic. Houston was pretty much unbeatable last season away from home but after this game they haven't started brilliantly, although there is plenty of time for them to improve.

With both other SL increases so far this week being Shaft Free it must be making the following teams with SL increases a wee bit nervous. Prosinecki was the boy from API with the quaking knees awaiting judgment. Lucky for him he managed to get a correct SL increase making Jesus' weekend complete. Comfortable win and Shaft free...It doesn't get any better than that. Well it may in real life but in GISL terms its Nirvana.

Barnsley Tykes 0 - 0 Pasmaters

Pasmaters continue their good start to the season by picking up a point away to Barnsley, although it was rumored that the Barnsley Manager actually went over to England to see Goran the God play at Wimbleton. This has been hotly denied by the Barnsley Chairman but since they failed to win the game questions will be asked..

Where is our little friend the Shaft Simian? He totally failed to come to the party when Delphi got his SL increase so Cagri will be happy.

Besiktas 1 - 3 Aussie Man Utd
D_Webber (amu) 15'
D_Webber (amu) 25'
S_Keane (amu) 63'
Nouma (bes) 90' pen

Well this was billed as the ex Divvie 4 grudge match... And it certainly fired. Besiktas Manager Cagri must have been pulling his hair out after AMU went 2-0 up after just 25 minutes. Young forward Webber had a great game bagging his 5th goal so far this season in all games. Keano the Peano then put the game pretty much out of Besiktas reach when he took AMU to 3-0 not long after half time. The best Besiktas could do was get a consolation goal (from a penalty) very, very late in the game... I imagine there was some tough words from the Besiktas Manager after the game and they will really have to get their act together for their game against Barnsley who are a pretty good side.

Well we now know where the old SM was this week.. He was saving himself for Vonn, the poor Besiktas defender who will be able to move up to the forwards soon if this continues. The only bright spot for Cagri will be the return of Barmbell his shit hot midfielder. Ian on the other hand will probably be on the bog after this performance and has seen them shoot to 5th position on goal difference. If they can maintain this they will be doing well indeed.

Only Nitro and Pasmaters hold their positions from last week. The biggest mover was AMU who jumped from 10th to 5th. Nice one Ian.

10 Besiktas 2 0 0 2 1 4 -3 0

Nitro still on top however they have some friends with them. Pasmaters who avoided the drop last season have started great guns so far and AMU is doing well so far to avoid the drop. Spartak, Barnsley and Besiktas are the 3 teams in the early drop zone.

AMUs Webber takes the top spot from Vendelbastard as he failed to score this week. Mind you he only takes the top spot due to the fact that his first name begins with a D and Vedles starts with a P.
AMU are making sure that everyone gets a go in their team. 4 of the buggers are in the top 10 which is a good effort.

Jensen is holding on grimly to the top spot but is coming under pressure from Eastern bad boy Phillips. Spartak are currently holding the last 3 spots in the top 10 but Barnsley are the DPS kings and have 6 players in the top 20   Delphi's gets a SL increase and keeps at the top of the performers list over Vendelboe who did very little this week....Well done.
