Round 7

Nitro V Besiktas Table Moves
Barnsley V AMU Table
Api V Pasmaters Scorers /Assists
Eastern V Houston DPS /Performers
Spartak V Saskatoon

Only 14 goals scored this week which is a little betetr than last week. There was some very lucky players out there this week with very little in the way of Shafting.

Nitro FC 4 - 0 Besiktas
J_Citroen (nit) 16'
P_Vendelboe (nit) 45'
P_Vendelboe (nit) 76'
J_Citroen (nit) 79'

Both Teams came into this game needing some points. Nitro after their disastrous start were improving rapidly, and Besiktas after a reasonable start are seeing the wheels start to get a wee bit shaky. Well Nitro certainly kept their resurgence happening trouncing Besiktas 4-0. Both Citroen and Vendelboe harried the Besiktas defence and ended up with a brace each. Cagri must be getting a wee bit concerned after this loss sees him drop to 9th place on the table. Mind you they are only 5 pts away from 4th so there is no need to press the alarm bells yet.

This has to be some sort record. 3 SL increases for a team in one week and they are all Shaft free. Doe, Schneider and Citroen all go up in their chosen skill. All I can say is "You lucky, lucky Bastards!"

Barnsley Tykes 0 - 1 Aussie Man Utd
D_Webber (amu) 83' pen

Come on, this is ridiculous, how long can a team go WITHOUT scoring a single goal???? This has been 7th league game on the trot with out forcing the opposition keeper to pull the ball out of his own net. How long can this go on? Barnsley did however almost get only their second point of the season from a draw but AMU snatched that away from them in the 83rd minute when Webber put away a penalty that condemned Barnsley to yet another loss.

Hell there seems to have been more off field action than on field. Nitro players who avoided Shafty this week should thank Lambert from Barnsley who got rogered right royally. Hendrix escaped any SM action this week but AMUS Blomqvist got a bit of a feel up. Half the Barnsley team make a return fro their next game with no less than 4 players coming back from injury and suspension. Beckham is the only AMU player to return for their next game against Eastern next week.

Apijarevoleada APR 2 - 2 Pasmaters
X_Malcolm (pas) 34'
I_Lazanga (pas) 45'
D_Prosinecki (api) 60'
P_Smegovic (api) 77' pen

This was a interesting game with the highflying Pasmaters coming out early and really sticking it to the Api defence to take it to 2-0 before half time. Whatever Jesus said to his boys at the break did the trick and they came out and opened their account in the 60th minute through their young midfielder Prosinecki. They were then lucky in the 77th minute to jag a penalty and make sure they split the points with their visitors finishing the game 2-2.

Cagri from Pasmaters will be very happy to see that Roy will be back next game from suspension and will be joined by Babbel who is back from injury. Api on the other hand paid a rather heavy price for this win with Agpensa off for 6 weeks and Meller for 1. That's gotta hurt especially with Colosimo out for the same amount of time.

Eastern FC 1 - 1 Houston Odyssey
C_Laudrup (eas) 3'
M_Medinna (hou) 54' pen

Houston are going quite nicely this season, picking up from where they left off last season. Eastern on the other hand are struggling a bit. Especially when you consider some of the talent they have available. Eastern started the scoring in the 3rd minute through Laudrup and things were looking up. Unfortunately for Eastern that was the end of their scoring and Houston pinched a point when Medinna calmly popped a penalty away in the 54th.

Frank will be a happy boy this week. Well maybe not extactic with the draw however he should be pleased with the correct SL increase for Wai and that Chiesa and Man are back from Suspension and Injury. Iggy however will be very shitty that Melita (his top midfielder) will be missed for 7 weeks due to a nasty accident on the field.

Spartak Haifa 1 - 2 Saskatoon Wanderers
D_Vios (sas) 31' pen
Alfalfio (sas) 43'
T_McShafty (hai) 59'

"You Jammy bastards… You jammy jammy Bastards!" These were the words from Spartak Manager Lidstone to Saskatoons grinning manager Eugene. When asked to explain his words an irate Lidstone replied. "Well get this, he has half his team out with injury, they have Tactics that even I could figure out, and change them less than I do my underpants(that's what the smell is by the way). Their Goal keeper VanDerbastard saves a penalty, they got a penalty that was an absolute joke, both their players who got a SL increase avoided both Shafty and that incompetent Tongan idiot Hopoate and, to top it all off, they bloody well win the game! Jammy Bastards!!"

Well there is no doubting a certain amount of luck went the way of Saskatoon but they took their chances where Spartak squandered theirs. They also have 4 players returning from injury which will improve their squad strength and as was earlier said both Close and Coat managed to avoid old Shafty.

Lots of movement this week with only the goal less Barnsley staying put and they can't drop any furthur until next season.

Vendelboe catches the 2nd placed Hopoate who did nothing at all this week. Roy was suspended so will get a chance to extend his lead next week.   Saint jumps into the lead over the early leader Diehard.

Spartak resident idiot still leads the pack due to his ability to rack up disciplinary points faster than any other goose in the 3rd Division.   Roys extended holiday has seen him relinquish the top spot to Api's Agpensa. Hoppa drops from the top 10 as he didn't really play in the Cup game midweek and did sod all in the Saturday game.
